Outdoor sewing

Before my husband and I married 5 years ago, he was in an organization called the SCA.  They would dress in medieval costumes, have tournaments, sword fights, feasts, battles, and re-create those glorious customs and times.
He had a pavilion tent that was huge.  While he no longer uses it all the canvas and poles for the pavilion are still in good shape. Here is a photo of another small pavilion in use.
A few weeks ago the plastic grill cover that we had just purchased tore. I removed the cover, cut the pieces apart at the seams and used it for a pattern.
I then spread out one of the canopy pieces of canvas from the pavilion and cut a new cover.

The sewing was weighty but manageable. Now we have a heavy duty grill cover that will hopefully last for more than a season.
